Hey, Gladstone, you certainly have a sharp sense of humor. I love the things you write for Cracked. Well, what are your influences? Is there any specific comedians or writers?
I like many writers, but its hard to know if they are influences. Same with comics. I mean, I love Louis CK, but he’s not an influence. I was who I was by the time I got into him. I feel like most influences you have to acquire very young. Monty Python, Cleese particularly, Woody Allen, Neil Simon are all in there somewhere. George Carlin. Huge Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert fan, but again, I think I was already formed by then. Kafka is an tiny influence too, I guess.
I loved the first couple of editions of Notes from the Internet Apocalypse, but as soon as you said you were making a book out of it I stopped reading, to keep more of the book a mystery. I plan to buy it when it's released,so it's a win for you I guess. Got any idea when that might be?
Well, it’s true that if you read it all, you will learn stuff that won’t be a surprise in the book. Having said that. The novel is more than twice as long as whats been on cracked. I have fully expanded it. I have a couple of interested agents and I’m currently rewriting it. I hope very much that 2012 sees its publication.
